So, it just proves that if the artist remains awake, aware and uses his creativity to process the world around him, it can flow beyond him and sometimes produce beautiful consequences never expected. This isn’t to say we need to be creating flowery subject matter. Lord knows I don’t. I rarely do. As a matter of fact, as was the case here, a sad or angry song often produces a much-needed feeling of identification for the listener. It can make him or her feel less alone, and, as was the case here, even empowered. Stay awake, aware and be the funnel through which it all flows.

...and the wheels touched Paris, and you walked out my life...
just one lyric of the several songs I'm writing right now with my bandmates and producers. You know, even though I've just begun to bring the Kind Ghosts album to promotional life, the creative process doesn't stop. It's not like a faucet you can just turn off. So I encourage everyone, and myself, to keep it flowing. We even worked "Blink of an Eye," the song from which this lyric comes, into our set at Rockbar last month.
Next week, my good friend and vocal coach Wendy Parr and I will perform at Rockwood Music Hallto benefit Friends of Fresh and Green Academy, a foundation that is building and supporting a school for impoverished children in Ethiopia. Our set, in acoustic formate, is from 6-8 p.m. I'm on at 6. If you can't make it, please check out FoF&G's indiegogo site. IF YOU DONATE TO THEM, I'LL SEND YOU A FREE TSHIRT! Just let me know you've made a donation, tell me your size and pop goes the weasel, out goes your Kind Ghosts tee shirt.

The Kind Ghosts tee!
Right now were location scouting in upstate New York for the "Champion" video with video director Marko Kalfa. Below, my 3 year old Asher, plays production assistant.

My little brother, Danny Nicoletto, during his New York tour stop, came to my 'hood for Sunday morning coffee with me and the Ash-monster. Always on the road, Danny is currently working with the press tour for the Steve Taylor film "Blue Like Jazz" based on the New York Times best-selling novel by Donald Miller. Thrilled by the trailer Danny showed me, also thrilled that Ben's daughter from LOST is in the movie.
